BUD FUND SERVICES

Office Links assists clients in applying for Hong Kong’s Branding, Upgrading, and Domestic Sales (BUD) Fund, a government initiative aimed at helping businesses expand in Mainland China and 38 economies having Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Hong Kong. 

This government fund provides essential financial support to help companies grow and expand their presence in Mainland China and other international markets. With Office Links’ expertise, clients benefit from a streamlined, effective application process, maximizing their chances to secure funding for business expansion and competitiveness.

How the BUD Fund Can Benefit Your Business

The BUD Fund is a matching grant, where up to 50% of approved project expenses are covered, with a maximum of HKD 1 million per project and an aggregate cap of HKD 7 million per company across all projects. Eligible uses of funds include:

  •  Brand development, marketing, and advertising

  •  Product design, quality enhancement, and R&D

  • Digital marketing, market research, and promotional events

  • 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations  (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam)

  • Other Asia-Pacific economies: Australia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Macao, New Zealand,

  •  Europe: Austria, Belgo-Luxembourg, Economic Union, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom

  • Americas: Canada, Chile, Mexico

  •  Middle East: Bahrain, Georgia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates

Financial Support

 

  • Matching Grant: Provides a matching fund where the government covers 50% of project costs.

  • Funding Amount: Up to HKD 7 million per applicant, across Mainland China and FTA (Free Trade Agreement) markets.

  • Flexible Funding: Separate caps for Mainland and FTA markets, allowing businesses to allocate resources where they need them most.

Eligibility & Scope

 

  • Eligible Applicants: All non-listed Hong Kong-registered enterprises with substantive business operations.

  • Supported Projects: Projects related to branding, upgrading, and sales expansion that strengthen competitiveness in Mainland China and FTA markets.
